Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is an evidence-based trauma treatment. I received my EMDR Training from the Maiberger Institute, an EMDRIA approved provider of EMDR Trainings.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is also an evidence-based trauma treatment. I received my certification in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), another evidence-based trauma treatment from the Office of Veterans Affairs.
I honed my experience as an Addictions Counselor at CU's Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS). While there, I earned my CAC III, or Certified Addictions Counselor, Level III.
I also specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), a skills training approach for managing difficult emotions; tolerating distress; reducing impulsivity; and communicating wisely. I have been teaching DBT since 2004. Call to discuss individualized DBT skills training/coaching or to add your name to my next group roster.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a master's degree from the University of Denver and a Certified Addictions Counselor, Level III. My clinical experience includes the Office of Veterans Affairs, the University of Colorado's Addiction Research & Treatment Services, Arapahoe/Douglas Mental Health, Boulder Mental Health Partners.
Through my training and 17 years of experience, I have developed clinical expertise, but perhaps more importantly, I have gained a deep appreciation for the inner wisdom of each person I meet. I am creative and compassionate as I work with you to discover and nurture yours.
The skills I teach are also ones that I use. I know that, when I do, my life goes better. Because I'm human, I sometimes forget. When I do, I begin again.
